A certificate is a promise from a certificate authority that the site at this address is who it claims to be. This is what that promise looks like once it has been issued.

Domain validated (DV) is the right choice for most sites. Organisation validated (OV) and extended validation (EV) add a verified business identity. Wildcards cover every subdomain.
Pricing excludes applicable taxes and ICANN fees. Prices shown are first-term prices; the renewal price is shown on each plan before you pay. Sixteen options in total, across domain, organisation and extended validation, up to $487.99 per year. Every button opens our storefront, which lists Organisation Validation first — choose Domain Validation there for the cheapest options. Verified against our storefront on 2026-10-09. Certificates are sold per year, not per month.

What happens if my certificate expires?
Browsers show a full-page warning to every visitor. Renewal reminders are sent ahead of the date, and the Managed SSL Service exists specifically to stop this happening.
Do I need one certificate or several?
One standard certificate covers one domain. Use a wildcard if you have subdomains, or a multi-domain certificate if you run several related sites.
Will it work on my current host?
Certificates are issued per domain and install on virtually any hosting platform — our install guide covers the common server setups. The Managed SSL Service is the alternative if you would rather not do it yourself, though it applies to WordPress and Web Hosting on our own platform, not to a server you manage elsewhere.
How long does issuance take?
Domain-validated certificates are often issued within minutes. Ones requiring business verification can take a few days.
