Legal
Terms of sale, in plain language.
What you are agreeing to when you buy from us, written so you can actually read it. The authoritative agreements are linked throughout.
Good to Know:
This page is a plain-language summary, not the contract itself. The authoritative terms are the Universal Terms of Service and the other agreements linked below. Where this summary and those agreements differ, the agreements govern. Nothing here is legal advice.Who you are buying from
Famous Registrar is an independent reseller of domain registration, hosting, email, security and marketing services. We are not the registry or the underlying infrastructure operator.
Products are provisioned on third-party infrastructure and governed by that provider's agreements as well as this summary. You contract with us for the sale and with the provider for the operation of the service.
Pricing and payment
- Pricing excludes applicable taxes and ICANN fees. Prices shown are first-term prices; the renewal price is shown on each plan before you pay.
- .com registration is $14.99 per year. Plus an ICANN fee of $0.18 (USD) per domain per year.
- Prices are shown in US dollars unless stated otherwise.
- Prices published on this website are verified against our storefront as of 2026-09-26. If the two ever disagree, the price shown in the cart governs.
- Renewal pricing is not guaranteed in advance. See the Renewals section below.
- Payment is taken at the time of order for the term you select. We do not store your full card details.
Renewals
- Products renew automatically by default, so nothing lapses unexpectedly.
- You can turn auto-renew on or off for each product individually in your account.
- Reminder emails are sent before the renewal date.
- We do not guarantee a renewal price in advance. Renewal pricing is set by the underlying provider and may change; the price that will be charged is always the one shown in your account and in the cart at the time of renewal.
Refunds
- Refund eligibility is governed by the provider's Refund Policy, which is linked in the authoritative agreements below. Please read it before purchase if a refund is important to your decision.
- Domain registrations are non-refundable once the domain has been registered. The registry fee has already been paid on your behalf and the registration cannot be reversed.
- Domain transfer fees are non-refundable once a transfer has been initiated or completed.
- SSL certificates and other third-party licences are generally non-refundable once issued.
- Where a refund is due, it is returned to the original payment method.
Domains and transfers
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the registration data you supply. False information can result in registry suspension.
- Registrations are subject to the policies of the relevant registry and ICANN, including verification requirements.
- Transfers require an authorization code and an unlocked domain at the current registrar, and are subject to ICANN's 60-day rules.
- Transfer lock is enabled by default; you can unlock a domain from your account when you want to move it.
Acceptable use
Hosting may not be used for spam, malware distribution, phishing, illegal content, or activity that threatens the stability of shared servers. If usage presents a risk to other customers we will contact you and may ask you to upgrade or change how the service is used.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling hosting does not instantly delete your files, but always take a backup first. Domains remain yours until their term ends — cancel auto-renew only if you intend to let the domain lapse.
