WHOIS lookup

See who owns a name — and when it expires.

Try one:

Every registered domain has a public record: the registrar, the key dates, the nameservers and the status. Type a name into the box — or an IP address, and the page reads the network block it sits in. Free, instant, no account.

  • Domains and IP addresses
  • Live DNS records
  • Nothing to sign up for

What a lookup shows, and what it withholds.

Registrar and status

See which company holds the registration and whether the domain is active, on hold or in redemption.

Key dates up front

Creation, last update and expiry — the three dates that tell you whether a name is worth pursuing.

Nameservers in use

Check where a domain currently points. Useful for spotting parked names and abandoned projects.

Privacy detection

If the record shows proxy details you will know immediately — usually a sign of an individual rather than a company.

No account required

Lookups are free and open. Nothing to register for and nothing to unsubscribe from later.

Reading a record that is not yours.

What is public, what is redacted, and what a lookup will not tell you.

Why does a record show proxy details instead of a name?
That domain has privacy protection enabled. The registry deliberately hides the owner's personal details — usually a sign of an individual registrant rather than a company.
Can I find an owner's email through WHOIS?
Only if they have not enabled privacy protection, and even then registries increasingly redact personal data to comply with privacy law. We do not attempt to bypass those protections.
A domain I want expires soon. Can I claim it?
Not automatically. Expiry is followed by a grace period, then redemption, and often an auction. If you want the name, call us and we will explain the realistic path.
Does looking up a domain tell the owner?
No. Lookups are anonymous queries against public registry data, and no notification is sent to the registrant.
Can I look up an IP address too?
Yes. Paste an IPv4 or IPv6 address into the same box and the page reads the public registry record for the network block it sits in — the range, the network name and the organization behind it.
